Snoop Invests In Eaze - New "Uber For Weed" App

Business Insider – Eaze, a marijuana delivery startup, just raised $10 million from investors including DCM Ventures, 500 Startups, Snoop Dogg’s Casa Verde Capital, and Fresh VC. Eaze is an on-demand marijuana delivery startup that works by connecting California’s medical marijuana patients with local dispensaries. The startup raised a $1.5 million round in November and says it can provide delivery within 10 minutes.  The on-demand trend was made popular by Uber — press a button and you can have anything at your doorstep in a few minutes. The business model has yieled a few billion-dollar startups, including grocery delivery service Instacart. Founded by Keith McCarty, an early Yammer employee, Eaze is one of several startups in the booming marijuana category as investors scramble to get into deals just ahead of the drug’s potential legalization. Recently Alaska, Washington D.C., Colorado, and Washington state have all passed laws.

Uber for weed. What a time to be alive. Weed delivery is nothing new. Especially not in Manhattan. The other day my buddy had some pretty blonde girl with a fucking French bulldog show up at his apartment to deliver. Laid out the whole selection and then she just forgot to take the money. Left it on his coffee table. Free weed from some ditzy smoke. And now an official app from some tech start up and Snoop Dogg. Thats where we’re at with weed these days. Its incredible.

Personally I liked the days where you had to do some real sketchy shit to get high. We used to have to beep a dude named Shakes and meet him in like a parking lot in the Bronx. Reminded me of Samson from Half Baked. Could have just easily robbed a bunch of 16 and 17 year old white kids but for the most part shit always went pretty smooth with Shakes. I mean sure he sold us absolutely terrible weed but that was life back then. You had to earn it a little bit. Nowadays thanks to the Silicon Valley and a few million bucks from Snoop you can order and have weed delivered before the commercials are over. Unbelievable. It really is like the indirect pussification of America. Shit is too damn easy now.

PS – Snoop is like quietly a real savvy tech investor. Motherfucker invested in Reddit too. Got it at like the ground floor on that shit. Now he’s at the forefront of weed delivery. Doggfather knows what hes doing, man.
